Titles & Items Added and Withdrawn Report

  1. Open spreadsheet
  2. Open prior month of OWLSnet spreadsheet Titles & Items owned by Library  (http://www.owlsnet.info/stats/)
  3. Copy values of number of Titles Owned and Items Owned by Appleton
  4. Paste values in the appropriate fields.
    1. Note the field Items Added will automatically populate (though this value is inaccurate at this point)
  5. Wait for OWLS staff to publish the Items Withdrawn report.  Populate the Items Withdrawn with the sum from this report.
    1. Note the field Items Added will automatically update itself with the accurate value for the number of items added during the prior month.

 

Holds Fulfillment Rate

 

Holds Fulfillment Report

  1. Open III Circulation Client
  2. Open View Holds
  3. Change in Limit Display to:  Hold Status:  On Holdshelf
  4. Set Pickup Location to: Select Location:  OA
  5. Click the View Outstanding Holds button
  6. Note the number of items on the holdshelf and paste that value in the appropriate space
  7. In View Holds sort by Date Placed column, arrow pointing down.  This orders the list by most recently placed holds being filled at the top.
  8. Scroll down the list until you come to the 8th day from the first date listed (i.e.  if top date is 7/10/07 then scroll down until the first record with the Date Placed displays 7/3/07.
  9. Look at the row number.
  10. Enter the value of the row in the spreadsheet.  This is the number of holds being fulfilled on this day that have been placed within the last 7 days.
  11. The fill rate will calculate automatically.

  • Subtract most recent Preliminary index from prior year's Final index value. This becomes the percent change from prior year.
  • Sum book costs from current budget allocations.
  • Subtract paperback allocations.
  • Multiply value by percent change.
  • Append number to current value.
Mass Market Paperback cost % inflation change Bowker Annual (R 020.58 Bow)
  • Book Title Output & Average Prices. Table 6. Mass Market Paperbacks...Prices. Totals.
  • Subtract most recent Preliminary index from prior year's Final index value. This becomes the percent change from prior year.
  • Sum paperback allocations.
  • Multiply value by percent change.
  • Append number to current value.
Periodical cost % inflation change Library Journal April 15 issue: Periodicals Price Survey  
Reference budget % inflation change
  • Actual costs from invoices
  • Find items that have arrived in current year.
  • Match with the same titles that arrived in prior year.
  • Determine costs for each title/copy.
  • Sum current and prior year's costs.
  • Divide prior year by current year to determine % inflation change.
  • Multiply current reference budget by inflation change and append value to budget.

  • Sum periodical and newspaper allocations
